Adam Turck Richmond VA Obituary, Fatal Accident of Tequila & Deadlifts Trainer and Actor

The Richmond arts community is reeling from the sudden loss of beloved actor, powerlifter, and friend, Adam Turck, who tragically died in an accident over the weekend. He was a cherished member of the city’s theatre scene and an inspiration to many both on and off the stage.

Turck, a native of Richmond, Virginia, was known not only for his commanding presence in the theatre but also for his deep compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment to building community. He had worked at Olney Theatre Center, studied Drama at Ithaca College, and trained at the Moscow Art Theater School. A proud alumnus of Pennridge High School, Adam was also a certified personal trainer with several years of experience in powerlifting, working toward his American Barbell Coach certification.

But beyond the titles and accolades, Adam was something more: a friend, a champion, a force of positivity, and a bright light in many lives.

“This weekend, Richmond actor and all-around-good person Adam Turck tragically died,” a statement from Cadence Theatre Company shared. “Adam was thoughtful, intentional, caring, and willing to do the work of making the world a better place… It’s hard to think of a world without Adam.”

Turck’s recent roles included a standout performance in SMOKE by Enid Graham, where he played “Chase,” a character vastly different from his own gentle and empathetic nature. His ability to embody such complex roles is a testament to his immense talent. Cadence also noted he will appear posthumously in the upcoming film The Taylows, now in post-production.

Rachel Garmon-Williams, a close friend, wrote in a heartfelt tribute:
“It is with great sadness that we share our Superman Adam Turck will not be coming back from this. He will keep saving lives as an organ donor and begins that journey soon… Please love and support each other. Share stories, talk to each other, and respect the privacy of those who need it most.”

Richmond Shakespeare, where Adam was a familiar and celebrated face, shared:
“Adam was a beloved pillar of the Richmond Theatre community… He was kind, sensitive, dashing, daring, eccentric and usually the most positive voice in the room.”
Adam appeared in several of their productions, including The Tempest, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), and School for Lies.

As the city mourns this immense loss, fellow actors, theatre-goers, gym partners, and friends continue to share memories of his laughter, dedication, and generous spirit.

Turck’s final act of kindness—becoming an organ donor—ensures his legacy of care and heroism lives on.

Funeral arrangements and a celebration of Adam’s life will be shared in the coming days.
